We are currently seeking applications for faculty positions.
The Department of Chemical Engineering seeks outstanding applicants for multiple open tenure-track or tenured positions at all levels. Candidates should complete the online application here.
- Applicants are sought in all research areas in or at the boundaries of chemical engineering and adjacent fields.
- We are also interested in applicants working at the intersection of chemical engineering and artificial intelligence (including robotics and machine learning); the global energy transition to net zero; synthetic biology and natural products; new science and/or technologies geared toward the imaging, treatment or detection of brain cancer; and single cell spatial analysis.
- In conjunction with a new $30M NSF-funded Science and Technology Center (COMPASS) at the University of Michigan, the Department of Chemical Engineering seeks applicants at all levels for multiple tenured and tenure-track positions in complex particle systems. Candidates working at the forefront of assembly science and engineering; graph theory for materials; complex multifunctional and patchy particles; nanocomposites and nanofiber networks; biomimetic materials; chiral photonics; 3-D imaging and advanced electron microscopy; additive particle-based manufacturing / 3-D printing; and/or related areas are encouraged to apply.
We seek dedicated scholars who will provide inspiration, leadership, excellence and impact in research, teaching and service, while demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity, diversity and equity in chemical engineering. Applicants should have a PhD in chemical engineering or a closely related field, a track record of outstanding research, and a commitment to excellence in education and student mentoring.
