Students at U-M can get a taste of graduate student life through the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program. In Chemical Engineering, priority for SURE admission is given to students entering their last summer prior to graduation. Learn more on the U-M SURE site.
Visit our Research Programs for Undergraduates webpage to explore current Chemical Engineering faculty research projects available to SURE participants.

For U-M students considering applying to SURE, please note:

  • Chemical Engineering does not require any additional documents other than a resume.
  • Chemical Engineering faculty each develop their own processes for selecting candidates to join their labs. As such, faculty may contact candidates as part of their decision-making process.

Many other institutions offer summer research experience.
