Scores can be up to five years old.
Nearly all admitted graduate students have a minimum combined GRE verbal and quantitative score of 300, and a minimum of 3.5 GRE analytical writing score. We look at the applicant’s highest GRE score, not the most recent.
The Admissions Committee looks at the complete application including academic performance, GRE (and TOEFL if applicable) scores, research experience, letters of recommendation, and submitted statements. Applications are reviewed holistically and all materials are taken into consideration.
A score of 250 on the computer-based version (CBT), 100 on the iBT, or 7.0 on the IELTS is required for international students except those with a degree from a university that teaches exclusively in English.
For more information regarding this requirement, see the Rackham Graduate School’s website at http://www.rackham.umich.edu/admissions/tests
University of Michigan reporting code for both tests: 1839
We will accept scores that will expire during the application process.
