Glotzer, Larson receive prestigious American Physical Society prizes
Glotzer received the Aneesur Rahman Prize for outstanding achievement in computational physics research and Larson was awarded the Polymer Physics Prize for outstanding achievement in polymer science.
Michael J. Solomon named dean of Rackham
He has been appointed dean of the University of Michigan’s Rackham Graduate School and vice provost for academic affairs-graduate studies.
New fund would provide support for College and ChemE department
Since 2007, he has endowed three funds to support the College’s students and faculty
Thomas G. DeJonghe Chemical Engineering Fund established
The fund will be used to provide need-based support for undergraduate students in the department.
John Mansfield Scholarship endowed
Rhonda Germany Ballintyn (BSE ChE ’79) and Nic Ballintyn have generously provided a gift to endow the John Mansfield Scholarship and support the H. Scott Fogler Award for Professional Leadership and Service Fund.
Jerome S. Schultz Fellowship Fund will support CHE grad students
Kathleen F. and Shyam R. Suchdeo established this fund in honor of Professor Schultz, former chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, and hope it inspires fellow alumni and friends of the Department to make gifts for the same purpose.
Johannes Schwank elected AIChE Fellow
Schwank has made numerous significant contributions to the advancement of chemical engineering and specifically to the field of heterogeneous catalysis.

James Wilkes receives College service award
He sets a remarkable standard of service and has remained highly active in support of Chemical Engineering and the College since his retirement in May 2000.
